African Daisy Mix

African Daisy Mix

Arctotus is a South African annual wild flower that carpets an area after Spring rains similar to the wild flowers of Western Australia. The Harlequin cultivar has a beautiful range with large brilliantly coloured  flowers of cream, yellow, orange, red, crimson and purple, some with contrasting zones. All of them have a luminescent sheen.

African Daisies like full sun to perform at their best. If the are grown in a shaded area, or on dull days, the flowers close and will open again at the first burst of sunlight. Growing to a height of 30-38 cm (12 - 15 in.) the foliage is a pleasant silvery green. The flowers are 7-8 cm (3 1/2 - 4 in.) and are held above the foliage. They prefer a well-drained light or sandy soil and will bloom for ten weeks up until the first frosts if conditions are right.
